White House Condemns Nobel Committee After Trump Misses Out on Peace Prize

by admin477351

The White House has sharply criticized the Norwegian Nobel Committee for overlooking President Donald Trump in this year’s Nobel Peace Prize decision, calling it an example of “politics over peace.”
Following the announcement that Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado had received the honor, senior Trump aides accused the committee of bias and disregarding Trump’s recent efforts toward a Gaza ceasefire. White House spokesperson Steven Cheung said the president “has the heart of a humanitarian” and vowed that Trump would continue “making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives.”
Lara Trump echoed the sentiment, saying the president “deserves it more than anyone alive” and accusing the committee of being influenced by anti-Trump sentiment. Trump’s camp believes his role in facilitating the Gaza truce should have earned him recognition.
Meanwhile, critics of the decision argue that the Nobel Committee’s statement highlighting the fight against authoritarianism was a subtle rebuke of Trump’s leadership style. Nonetheless, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Trump’s peace efforts, saying he has worked to resolve long-standing global conflicts, while also questioning the credibility of some past Nobel decisions.
